Accessibilty
While developing Robovac Flashback, I want to ensure the game is accessible to as many people as possible.
Below are some of the accessibility features I have planned.
If there is a particular accessibility feature that would help make the game easier to play for you, please let me know using the form at the bottom of the page.
Customisable Keybinds
Robovac Flashback will support both keyboard and controller inputs.
Players can bind any game functions to whatever key or button they like.
On-Screen Icons for Keyboard & Controllers
Icons will be shown on screen whether the player is using a keyboard, or a controller.
Additionally, the game will also support icons for Xbox, Playstation and Nintendo Switch controllers.
Hold and Toggle Settings
Any game functions that require players to hold buttons down can be changed so they are activated by a toggle instead (pressing the button once will start the action and pressing it again will stop the action.)
High Contrast Dirt
Scattered around the game are small particles of dirt that the player will need to vacuum up. Visually impaired players will be able to choose to make these particles more visible.

Colour Blind Settings
I intend to implement various colour-blindness settings to assist players.
As I am not colour blind myself, I am going to need to speak with some people with different types of colour-blindness to get a better idea on how to implement these settings.
If you’re colour-blind and would like to help me make the game more accessible for you, please reach out to me using the form below!
High Resolution Fonts
As a default, Robovac Flashback uses a stylised pixel font when displaying text. For some players, pixel fonts can be hard to read, so I intend to include an option for higher resolution fonts.
I don’t have any screenshots of this feature yet, as I will need to tinker around with a few things about the game before I can implement it.
Arachnophobia Mode
With this mode, all the spiders in the game will not be visible.

Infinite Lives Toggle
Players can choose to have infinite lives to cater the game to their preferred experience. This means the player can get hit as many times as they like and never receive a game over. This setting is entirely optional and players will not be penalised for selecting it.
